Movie Review – ‘The Intern’

“Hathaway is magnificent… De Niro brings the calmness and demeanor of a James Bond around an office water cooler.” – REEL BRIEF.com

The Intern

Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway stars as founder and boss of an online clothing sales e-business who grudgingly takes on a senior intern (Robert De Niro) to help manage her chaotic life.  Hathaway is magnificent as a strong working woman who wants it all—and should.  Her exemplary performance as the overworked Jules Ostin exhibits Hathaway’s flourishing arsenal of robust acting talent.  De Niro’s impressive as the heartfelt intern who provides the fabric encompassing the entire film, endearing himself to Hathaway and viewers with each new day and throwback accoutrement. De Niro brings the calmness and demeanor of a James Bond around an office water cooler. His charisma and gentle manners takes us back to a slower, more enjoyable life and pace that can still work in today’s nonstop world.  Offering plenty of laughs and smiles, it tosses in several heavy doses of reality and sadness—all mixed into a straight-forward storyline.  A pleasant surprise, “The Intern” is a sure-fire hit for adults of all ages.

Grade: A

“The Intern” is rated PG-13 for some suggestive content and brief strong language.  It’s running time is 2 hours and 1 minute.
