Movie Review: ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ (2012)

Ever start watching a movie at home that’s barely good enough to get you to keep watching it? As more minutes pass by, you want to change channels–but you just can’t.  Something intriguing happens on-screen and you’re hooked again–now invested deeper into a film you didn’t want to see in the first place. That happened to me last night.  With this movie.

PLACE BEYOND THE PINES

Here’s the trailer…

‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ is a 2012 crime film starring real-life couple Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. It also has the always watchable and authentic Bradley Cooper and Ray Liotta, both playing small town cops in Schenectady, New York. The movie has just enough ingredients for everyone; suspense, plot twists, crazy characters, corruption, revenge, and well, Eva Mendes.
